Keeping the Blade: Brewing in the Age of Legends

While Strixhaven previews are roaring, we're still a few weeks away from actually getting to play with these cards. But that's fine because we still have plenty of unfinished business with Kaldheim. In this "last call" episode, we tackle a potpourri of interesting cards that didn't manage to land starring roles in their own dedicated weeks.
Hero's Blade has quietly become a card to watch as we enter the Age of Commander, where each set has 20+ new legendary creatures (Kaldheim had a whopping 33!) at all spots on the mana curve. Vorinclex has proven itself in Green devotion but might also function in a nontraditional ramp shell. Egon and Dream Devourer haven't made a big splash yet, but each bring unique skill sets to the table. Which of them can give Kaldheim a proper send-off with one last 5-0?

Long ago, Birthing Pod was the crown jewel of Modern. It was fast, resilient, and capable of playing fair or unfair as needed. The namesake artifact was ultimately banned outright; never shall we see its like again. 
Unless.... could Pyre of Heroes really be the second coming of Pod? Wizards certainly wants us to think so. The effect is so similar, and Pyre is even more generous in certain respects. The catch? That pesky clause that says you must find a creature of the same type. This card is one for the brewers, that's for sure, so let's get to work!

Meanwhile, Esper Charm hoists the trophy in the Challenge, and Slivers continue their blistering assault. In Pioneer, David has a new take on Cat Pact Combo, while Damon and Dan try their luck at 7 Point Highlander.

Chariots of Fur: Esika's Chariot and the New Cat Combo

Kaldheim Season, Episode 15: Esika's Chariot
The cat's out of the bag on Esika's Chariot. The green Kitty Wagon is already making waves in Pioneer thanks to its purrrfect synergy with Transmogrify strategies as well as Naya Winota. But that's just the tip of the whiskers for this magical Cat-illac. The card is already outstanding value by itself, but with the aid of a certain cat-loving planeswalker, Chariot has the potential to be something really special. One cat just leads to another, so lets see what this chariot can do!
